Concentrated Disadvantage:

A concentrated disadvantage is a term for neighborhoods with high percentages of residents of low socioeconomic status. It is expressed as the percent of households located in census tracts with high levels of concentrated disadvantage.

Percent Concentrated Disadvantage - Based on Census Tracts - Concentrated Disadvantage is Comprised of Five Variables:

  • Percent Individuals Below the Poverty Line.
  • Percent of Individuals on Public Assistance.
  • Percent of Female-Headed Households.
  • Percent Unemployed.
  • Percent of Households with Individuals Less Than 18 years of age, 2017-2021.

Less than High School Education:
